SQUADRON COMPOUND SHOEBURYNESS

I am most grateful to Ian (Hamish) Hamilton who recently sent in this amazing photograph of Shoeburyness. Hamish served with 654 Signal Troop (SAGW) at Napier Barracks in Dortmund before moving to Shoeburyness for the amalgamation of the two Signal Troops and the formation of 260 Signal Squadron (SAM). Hamish remained with the Squadron up until just before the Squadron moved to Napier Barracks Dortmund.

This photograph taken by Hamish from the top of a Zip-Up Tower shows this amazing view of the Squadron Compound at Shoeburyness and will, I am sure, unlock many happy memories for those of you who were based there.

Not having had the good fortune myself to have served with the Squadron at Horseshoe Barracks Shoeburyness I am appealing for your help and assistance to identify the buildings and features indicated by the numbered arrows on the photograph. The photograph which quite extraordinarily arrived just in time for me to publish it on the website on the eve of the Squadron's 39th birthday. Happy Birthday 260 Signal Squadron (SAM). Terrific timing Ian, our grateful thanks mate.

How many buildings and features can you recognise?
