Lutterworth

Denbigh Arms Hotel
The picturesque market town of Lutterworth was the venue for the first reunion
of 260 Signal Squadron (SAM) Royal Signals Association. Once a posting stop for
the Royal Mail the Denbigh Arms Hotel provided a
friendly atmosphere in which to exchange or memories of the past, to share our
news of today and our plans for the future. Getting over the initial greetings
was eased by the presence of warm and familiar faces and any awkwardness of the
moment was soon overcome as the dark amber nectar began to flow.

Lutterworth

Denbigh Arms Hotel
Dating from the 18th Centuary, the Denbigh Arms Hotel
is a handsome building with a PEND running through the centre of the
building. Here our group paused for a time to record our visit to Lutterworth
and to remind ourselves of the great time we had meeting old and dear friends.
Take a little time to visit all the pages on this web site there
are lots more photos to see and we hope that you will return again and again to
read about our activities. So don't forget to bookmark our home page on the way
out. |

First Reunion June 1998 at Denbigh Arms, Lutterworth,
Leicestershire.
Reported in the October 1998 issue of the WIRE by our Association correspondent
Stephen Freeman-Pannett
The Squadron had its first reunion and meeting on
the 5 /6 June 1998 at the Denbigh Arms, Lutterworth, Leicestershire. Twenty
members and their ladies attended. We now have thirty-six members on our
mailing list. Do you know of any others? After an excellent dinner our
President, Maj. Bill Cunningham ex-Squadron
Commander 260 Sig. Sqn, thanked everyone concerned in helping the reunion take
place. He said how delighted he was to meet us all again. The reunion was voted
a great success and it was agreed to form a committee.
AN ODE TO US by Steve
Freeman-Pannett
Narrated at the First Reunion in June
1998 by John Seymour
Twenty five years have gone by, at some we laugh
and some we cry. To see the faces so old and drawn, god you must have been
ugly when you were born. We meet again this time ahead, who`ll pop up next
I dread. You have`nt changed a bit we say, we lie once more to save the day.
All the old stories and tales of woe, from our mouths and lips they flow.
Of the great deeds done by all, hey guy`s we had a ball. Since then
we`ve gone our seperate ways, remembering the good old days. Sitting here
and looking around, what will be the next thought to be found. Alas we part
the times go so fast, did we remember that chequered past. Not to worry Oh
never fear, please come back again next year.
